One of the most unique things about this style is that you need to practice under extreme temperatures (usually 95-105 degrees). Lyengar Yoga
This style was started over 60 years ago by a yoga guru known as B.K.S Lyengar. The style promotes flexibility, balance, endurance, and strength through precise body alignment. Unlike other types of yoga, poses in this style are usually held longer; you slowly move into a pose and hold for a minute before you stretch into another pose. In a lyengar studio, you will find a wide range of props that are aimed at helping students to reap full benefits of the exercise.
Some of the props that you will find in the studio include: blankets, blocks, chairs, straps and bolsters. Due to the use of props, slow pace, and attention to detail of the style, this yoga is ideal for people who are recovering from an injury.
